Google has recently implemented more changes to the search engine and is displaying far more than 10 results on the first page in some cases. The first page now also includes the local search results even if you don’t include the geographical location to the keyword search.

For instance search for “fishing charters” in new smyrna beach location will result in displaying 7 local places and 10 global results. However a  search for “new smyrna beach fishing charters” will result 3 local places results and 7 global results.

It’s important to be well optimized on a keyword that includes the local geographical location, for instance “new smyrna beach”  as it will also help a website to be highly ranked among the local places results when a keyword without locations is used.
